Joe Roosa '80 (Salamanca, N.Y. / Salamanca) was a two-time football All-PAC selection, making the Second Team in 1979 and garnering Honorable Mention status in 1978.
Roosa, a four-year letter winner, holds the Thiel career tackles record (404), which is third most in PAC history. He is 1 of just 3 three players in conference history to reach the 400-tackle mark. Roosa holds the league record for single-game sacks (six), doing so against Hiram in 1979.
His 115 tackles in 1979 are the eighth most in a season in Thiel history. His single-game marks of 18 and 16 tackles are good for third and eighth most, respectively, in Tomcats lore.
