Frank Newnam earned the outstanding track award for the most points scored during both the 1968 and 1969 seasons. As a member of the track team he competed in the high hurdles, intermediate hurdles, and the mile relay. As a competitor in the intermediate hurdles, Newnam never lost a race in the 1968 season and was crowned PAC champion in the event. Newnam also set school records in the mile relay during his time at Thiel. Along with being an outstanding track athlete, Newnam was also a four-year letter winner on the football team.
