Jim Mondok was a four-year letter winner in basketball. At the time of his induction, he ranked first in scoring average (21.4 points), second in career scoring (1,172 points), second in field goals (470) and four in free throws (232). In the 1966-67 season, he scored 34 points in a game against John Carroll. At his time of induction, this ranked him fifth all-time for most points in a game by an individual. Mondok was chosen to the PAC’s first five in basketball following the 1964-65, 1965-66 and 1967-68 seasons.

Mondok also earned four letters as a pitcher on the baseball team. His senior season he was named to the PAC Dream Team. Following the completion of his distinguished academic and athletic career at Thiel, he served in the U.S. Army and spent a tour of duty in Vietnam.
