A four-year track & field letter winner, Andrew Apisa was a major part of Thiel's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championship teams in 1996 and 1998. He was named the PAC Track & Field MVP in 1998 after earning first-place finishes in the hammer, shot put and discus, as well as a second-place effort in the javelin. Also in 1998, he was named the Field MVP of the Washington & Lee Invitational. Apisa was Thiel's track & field MVP in 1998 and 1999. He continues to hold school records today in the 35-pound weight throw (13.8 meters) and the discus (34.52 meters). He also holds the outdoor hammer throw record (49.15 meters). Apisa was named to the PAC 60th Anniversary Men's Outdoor Track & Field Team. Today, he is a teacher at Mineral Ride High School, where he coaches track & field and football. He and his wife, Amber (Cochran) '01, have two children, Elizabeth and Andrew.
