Hall of Fame
Despite his lack of size, Frank Stratiff was known as one of the toughest and most tenacious lineman Thiel College has produced over the years. His heart and determination enabled him to outperform larger athletes and go down as one of the best in Thiel history.
Stratiff was a four-year starter on offense and defense. He was voted to the All-District Collegiate Football Team three times (1958, 1959 and 1960). He was also a three-time all-conference honoree, being twice selected to the All-PAC First Team in 1958 and 1960. He was named a member of the All-Lutheran Collegiate Football Team, the All-Delta Sigma Phi Collegiate Football Team and he was voted to many All-Opponent teams during his four years at Thiel. His greatest accomplishment on the gridiron was being selected to the Associated Press All-State Collegiate Football Team in 1960. Stratiff was also selected as a member of the All-Time Thiel Football Team in 1961. His teammates recognized his abilities as a leader by voting him captain of the Tomcats for the 1960 season as well as Male Student Athlete of the Year in 1960-61.
