Although World War II interrupted Thiel Football for four seasons, the 1946 team turned in Thiel’s second undefeated season in a row when football was reactivated. In contrast to the 1941 team, which battered most opponents, the 1946 team was forced to claw its way through unblemished. The season was nothing but a series of cliff-hangers as week after week the Tomcats squeaked out narrow wins. This was a small squad that spent every Saturday afternoon fighting for its life with heart and desire in the true Tomcat fighting spirit.
