LEXINGTON, Ky (Feb. 3) -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) ranked the Thiel College Men's Volleyball team t-20th in its week three Coaches' Poll Tuesday afternoon. The ranking is the second in program history and first for the Tomcats since 2014.

The Blue and Gold's last ranking came nearly 12 years to the day, on Feb. 4, 2014.

The Tomcats are the first team in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Volleyball history to achieve a national AVCA ranking. 

Thiel went 3-0 last week with victories over MCVL-preseason-favorite Mount Union (3-0), Roanoke (3-1) and No. 18 St. John Fisher (3-2) to extend its home winning streak to 16 matches, the longest in team history.

The No. 20 Tomcats take on Penn State Behrend Thursday in a road non-conference clash at 7 p.m. before heading to Buffalo to battle Carlow (1 p.m.) and No. 17 Buffalo State (3 p.m.) Saturday.
