Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team swept the Medaille Mavericks in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), 3-0, Thursday night.
With the win, the Tomcats secured a home playoff game.
The Tomcats won in straight sets 25-21, 27-25, 25-21.
The Tomcats were led by
James Cromwell-Young (Virginia Beach, Va./Green Run) who tallied 10 kills with a .450 hitting percentage.
Zac Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) recorded nine kills and seven digs, while
JC Govannucci (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded seven kills and eight digs.
Cameron Long (Rock Hill, S.C./Legion Collegiate Academy) recorded a game-high 13 digs, while
Josh Pugh (Wexford, Pa./Pine Richland) recorded 32 assists and four service aces.
Medaille was led by Malachi Jackson who recorded 10 kills, 12 digs and four service aces. He registered a .154 hitting percentage. Kevin Cashdollar recorded 32 assists, and Brandon Smith led the Mavericks with a .267 hitting percentage.
The Tomcats will host Saint Vincent for senior day on Saturday. The AMCC match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
