Box Score STEVENSON, Md. – The Thiel College men's volleyball squad (10-10) fell to #15-ranked Stevenson University, 3-1, Saturday in Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) play by set scores of 17-25, 29-27, 19-25, 20-25.
Senior
Andrew Pohlod (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) paced the offensive attack for the Tomcats, finishing the match with 14 kills and 13 digs for his third double-double. Junior
Dylan Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Elderton) tallied 10 kills on 34 attempts while also registering seven digs.
As a team, the Tomcats had seven total blocks, including one solo block and four block assists by senior
Evan Proksell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area).
Defensively, junior
Colin Vitale (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) led Thiel with a season-high 17 digs and
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) recorded 25 assists and seven digs.
The Mustangs' Austin Jacoby finished with a game-high 21 kills to lead the Stevenson attack.
Thiel returns to action on Saturday, March 15, when they take part in the Carthage College Tournament. The Tomcats first opponent is Nazareth College at noon, followed by the host Redman at 6 p.m.
