Box Score NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. –The Thiel College men's volleyball team traveled to New York University Sunday. The Tomcats suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of the Violets.
The Tomcats (9-9) dropped the contest by the set scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-17. Junior
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) led the Thiel offense with a team-high six kills. He also chipped in a solo block and three block assists. Fellow junior
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) added four successful attacks against the Violets (10-4). Junior
Charlie Tindall (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) aided the visiting team's offense with 12 assists, while
Ian Phillips (Meadville, Pa./Meadville)'s three digs paced the Tomcat defense.
Thiel returns to the court on Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m., when they take on Cairn University at Langhorne, Pa.
