PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to #9 ranked Stevenson University and Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) on Saturday.
In the first match against Stevenson, the Tomcats battled hard but lost the match in five sets (25-23, 25-14, 23-25, 20-25, 10-15).
Sophomore Dylan Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Elderton) had 17 kills and 11 digs for his third double-double of the season, while teammate
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) posted his fifth double-double, adding 15 kills and 14 digs.
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) and
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) were the other Tomcats to finish with double-figure kills, registering 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Colin Vitale (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) chipped in 12 digs from his libero position and
Charlie Tindall (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) notched 37 assists.
In the second match of the evening, the Tomcats fell to EMU 1-3 (22-25, 25-16, 24-26, 19-25). Once again, Lasher led the team in kills with 13 while Turner finished with 11.
Ian Phillips (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) tallied a team-high 17 digs for the Tomcats while Lasher had seven. Tindall totaled 22 assists.
The Tomcats return to action on Tuesday, April 9 when they travel to Hamburg, New York to face Hilbert College at 7 p.m.
