AURORA, N.Y. - The Thiel College men's volleyball team (18-6) swept Hilbert College (6-19), 3-0, on Saturday, March 30 at the Farenthold Athletic Wing on the Wells College campus in Aurora, N.Y. The Tomcats winning set scores over the Hawks were 25-18, 25-19 and 25-17. Thiel has won eight-straight matches since March 17, the longest winning streak in school history.
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) led the Tomcats with nine kills, along with a block solo and a block assist, while
Alex Ciepiela (Marilla, N.Y./Iroquios Central) added seven kills and hit .583.
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) dished out 16 assists while
Charlie Tindall (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) contributed eight assists and two kills. Scott Ross and Adam Clabo each had six kills for the Hawks.
Thiel returns to action on Wednesday, April 3 for a match against the #3-ranked Juniata College Eagles. The match, to be played at Beeghly Gymnasium, is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
