JUNIATA, Pa. – The men's volleyball team split their last two matches of the Juniata Conference Weekend to Stevenson University and Philadelphia Bible College. Against Stevenson, the Tomcats fell 2-3 by the scores of (25-23, 18-25, 15-25, 26-24, 12-15). Thiel would then beat Philadelphia Bible College 3-1 by the scores of (25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 28-26).
Against Stevenson,
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) recorded 16 kills and nine digs while teammates
Andrew Pohlod (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) each had eight kills respectively.
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) piloted the offense with 28 assists while
Charlie Tindall (Tarentum, Pa./Deer Lakes) contributed 17. Defensively,
Ian Phillips (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) had 17 digs and
Evan Proksell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) added 10.
Against Philadelphia Bible College, McCoy once against paced the Tomcats, registering 20 kills and 20.5 points. Pohlod chipped in seven kills while Whitelock added seven. Hamilton administered 44 assists along with a service ace.
On defense, Phillips led the Tomcats with nine digs while
Dylan Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Elderton) and Proksell each had seven respectively.
