JUNIATA, Pa. – The men's volleyball team opened play at the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Weekend, hosted by Juniata College, on Friday and suffered a 3-1 loss to Eastern Mennonite University.
Thiel (15-16, 2-3 CVC East) fell by scores of 18-25, 20-25, 25-21 18-25.
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) paced the Tomcats in the four-set loss, tallying 13 kills and 12 digs.
Andrew Pohlod (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) each contributed five and seven kills, respectively, while
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) administered 34 and added three digs.
For the Lions, Kendall Garber led the team with 13 kills and had seven digs. Teammates Chris Moise and Greg Knight each chipped in 11 kills respectively and setter John Barry tallied 43 assists.
Thiel continues CVC Weekend play tomorrow when it takes on Stevenson University at 2 p.m. and Philadelphia Bible College at 6 p.m.
