GREENVILL, Pa. – The men's volleyball squad (15-15; 2-3 CVC) dropped to third ranked conference opponent Juniata College 3-0 on Wednesday evening in the Beeghly Gymnasium by the scores 18-25, 23-25, 24-26.
The Tomcats were paced by a pair of sophomores in
Andrew Pohlod (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and
Michael Whitelock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley). Pohlod tallied 12 kills with just three errors in 21 attempts while registering two digs while teammates Whitelock contributed seven kills in 12 attempts with a block.
As a team, the Tomcats had seven blocks, including two solos by
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs).
Defensively,
Ian Phillips (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) had 10 digs and
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) piloted the offense with 28 assists and eight digs.
The Eagles were led by Ben Wolff with 10 kills and nine digs.
Thiel will travel to Juniata Pa. to play in three conference games over the weekend. The first against Eastern Mennonite is set to start on Saturday at 6 p.m.
