GREENVILLE, Pa. – The men's volleyball team (8-5) swept Penn State Behrend Lions 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-14) on Tuesday evening in Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats saw two players reach double digits in kills as
Andrew Pohlod (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and
John Turner (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) each totaled 10 respectively in the 3-0 sweep.
Kyle Turkalj (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) ended the match with nine kills and two blocks while teammate
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) added seven kills, four digs and two blocks.
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) administered 34 assists in the Tomcat victory.
Defensively,
Dylan Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Elderton) and
Colin Vitale (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) paced the Tomcats with seven and six digs respectively.
Overall, the Tomcats had a total of 10 blocks, tying their previous season high.
For the Lions (1-10),
Grant Kocher (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) was the top performer, finishing with seven kills.
Thiel will travel Buffalo, N.Y. to compete against D'Youville on February 17. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
