GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Thiel College men's volleyball team saw a three-game winning streak come to an end with a four set loss to #8 Medaille College on Wednesday in Greenville.
The Mavericks were able to capture game one 25-21, but the Tomcats continued to battle and took game two from Medaille by a score of 28-26. The Mavericks were then able to put Thiel away as they won games three and four by scores of 25-22 and 25-19 respectively.
Sophomore outside hitter
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa., Holy Name) led the charge offensively for the Tomcats as he registered 18 kills and freshman outside hitter
Kyle Turkalj (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) added seven of his own. Defensively, the Tomcats were led by freshman libero
Jacob Schultz (Cochranton, Pa., Cochranton) who tallied 20 digs, while McCoy added 11.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Saturday March 5th as they travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin for a weekend full of conference play. The Tomcats will play The Milwaukee School of Engineering at 10 a.m. and host Carthage College at 2 p.m. on Saturday the 5th and will continue play on Sunday the 6th against Mount Saint Jospeh's (10 a.m.) and Fontbonne University (12 p.m.).
