GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball squad earned its third-straight win Wednesday evening at Beeghly Gymnasium, defeating visiting Hilbert College 3-0.
The Tomcats picked up game wins of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-13.
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa., Holy Name), currently ranked fourth among Division III counterparts in kills per game (4.47 k/g), registered a game-best 12 kills.
Kyle Turkalj (Greensburg, Pa., Hempfield) and
Grant Kocher (Venetia, Pa., Peters Township) each posted seven kills, with Kocher also adding five digs.
Jacob Schultz (Cochranton, Pa., Cochranton) notched eight digs in the win.
John Kahoohanohano (Wailuku, Hawaii, King Kekaulike) (19) and
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa., Maplewood) (14) combined for 33 assists. The Tomcats, ranked eighth in Division III in blocks per game (2.21 b/g), accumulated 9.0 blocks in the contest.
Thiel (8-17) returns to action on Tuesday, March 22 when they host D'Youville College. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
