HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Thiel men's volleyball team ran its winning streak to three matches Saturday with a four-set victory over homestanding Hilbert.
The Tomcats struck first with a 25-20 win in the first set before falling 27-25 in the second. They responded with two straight wins, 25-12, 25-17, to close out the match.
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa., Holy Name) was the team leader in kills with 15 while also chipping in with nine digs.
Andrew Pohlod (Gibsonia, Pa., Pine-Richland) had 11 kills,
Jacob Schultz (Cochranton, Pa., Cochranton) registered 11 digs and
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) set up the offense with 42 assists.
The Tomcats improve to 5-14 overall while Hilbert falls to 1-15.
Thiel will put its win streak on the line Wednesday with a home match against 12th-ranked Medaille.
