Buffalo, N.Y. -- The Tomcat men's volleyball team suffered its first lost of the season as it fell 3-0 to D'Youville College on Tuesday in Buffalo.
Thiel got down early in the first set and was unable to fight back as it was defeated 25-18 in the first. The Tomcats would battle back in the second game and would play well but still fell to the Spartans 26-24. D'Youville then wrapped up the victory with a 25-23 decision in the third game.
Sophomore middle hitter
Dante McCoy (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) led the way for the Tomcat offense as he posted 22 kills on the day. Freshman setter
Corey Hamilton (Meadville, Pa./Maplewood) also played well and did a nice job setting up the offense with 32 assists.
Thiel, who drops to 1-1 on the season will go back on the road Thursday as it travels back to Buffalo to play Medaille College. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
