Dutchmen fly past Tomcats

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (March 7) -- The Thiel College Baseball team dropped a non-conference clash with Lebanon Valley College 20-0 Saturday afternoon from Bob Gladwin Stadium in the spring break trip opener.

Thiel dips to 0-4 while the Flying Dutchmen rise to 3-6.

On the bump, Jack Fickes (Jeromesville, Ohio/Hillsdale) and Giovanni Rococi (Farrell, Pa./West Middlesex) each recorded their first career strikeouts.

Calvin Cackowski (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe), Max Bihler (Delaware, Ohio/Olentangy Berlin), Hewitt Wilt (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), Joey Fell (Warren, Ohio/Champion) and Mason Sherwin (Karns City, Pa./Karns City) all had hits for Thiel, with Sherwin's the first in his collegiate career.

Thiel is back in action tomorrow morning against Monmouth at 10 from Bob Gladwin Stadium.
