LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 8) -- The Thiel College Men's Golf team competed at the Saint Vincent Invitational Monday at Latrobe CC.
Sophomore
Jackson Gadsby (Sandy Lake, Pa./Lakeview) tied for 12th in a crowded 54-player field as he carded an 80 for the round to finish 8-over. He had birdies on the par-4 ninth and par-5 14th to go with seven pars, four of which came on the back nine. Gadsby shot a 5-over 41 on the front and a 3-over 39 on the back.
Eli Nicklas (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) tied for 27 with a 13-over 85. He had eight pars for the round as he shot a 43 on the front and 42 on the back.
Joe Grundy (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) tied for 32nd with a 15-over 87. He tallied nine pars on the round, six of which came on the front nine.
Brady Rzodkiewicz (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) tied for 41st with an 18-over 90. He shot a 43 on the back nine with four pars.
Tommy Burns (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) carded a 104 with three pars to place 52nd.
As a team, Thiel finished 9th of 9 squads with 342 strokes. Pitt Bradford (308 strokes) was first, Saint Vincent (314) second, Grove City (327) third, Saint Vincent - B (330) fourth, Westminster (331) fifth, Penn State Behrend (335) sixth, Bethany (336) seventh and La Roche eighth (338).
