GROVE CITY, Pa. (April 20) -- The Thiel College Men's Golf team tied for 6th of 14 squads at Monday's Grove City McBride-Behringer-Allen (MBA) Invitational from Grove City Country Club.
The Cats carded 327 strokes and tied with Pitt Greensburg. Thiel was seven strokes back of host's Grove City for fifth. Marietta took the team title with a 305.
Eli Nicklas (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) tied for 12th in the 93-golfer field with a 78 (+6) as he recorded three birdies and eight pars while firing a 39 on each of the front and back nines.
Brandon Stubert (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) tied for 18th with a 79 (+7) as he logged four birdies and seven pars.
Jackson Gadsby (Sandy Lake, Pa./Lakeview) fired an 81 (+9) to tie for 23rd. He notched a birdie and eight pars for the round.
Brett Crawn (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) tied for 57th with an 87 (+15) while
Joe Grundy (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) and
Tommy Burns (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) tied for 66th with an 89 (+17).
Thiel is back in action Friday and Saturday for the PAC Spring Championships from Mill Creek South in Boardman, Ohio. The Cats are tied for 4th after the Fall Championships while Gadsby sits in seventh.
