BRADFORD, Pa. (Aug. 30) -- The Thiel College Men's Golf team opened its fall slate at the Pitt Bradford Invitational from Pennhills Club Saturday. The Tomcats finished tied for 7th in the 15-team event.
Jackson Gadsby (Sandy Lake, Pa./Lakeview) and
Brady Rzodkiewicz (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) paced the Tomcats as they both finished tied for 19th in the 72-player field with a 7-over 78.
Gadsby shot an even-par 35 on the front nine with a pair of birdies and bogeys each. He logged a birdie on the par-4 10th and went on to card a 7-over 43 on the back nine.
Rzodkiewicz birdied the par-3 second and logged six pars on the front nine to shoot 1-over on the front. He had three pars and six bogeys on the back nine to finish with a 78 for the day.
Joe Grundy (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) finished 41st with an 11-over 82 for the round. He had a birdie on the par-4 first and posted four pars on each of the front and back nines.
Eli Nicklas (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) carded an 85 on the day with seven pars to place 56th while
Brett Crawn (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) posted an 89 with a birdie and three pars to finish 66th.
Thiel is back in action Monday, Sept. 8, for the Saint Vincent Invitational from Latrobe Country Club.
