Nathen Prunty (Elyria, Ohio/Keystone) were named to the All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) First Team while senior first baseman
Ethan Bintrim (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) and senior outfielder
Nick Jacobs (New Castle, Pa./Union) collected All-PAC Honorable Mention status, the league office announced Wednesday evening on the PAC Sports Network.
Cackowski became the first Tomcat since Trent Mosley in 2015 to lead the PAC in home runs with a career-high nine. He slugged a conference-leading .662, which was nearly 50 percentage points higher than the next closest player. Cackowski finished third in the PAC in total bases (88) and doubles (15) while placing fourth in OPS (1.088) and eighth in RBIs (37). He sat in the top 25 in batting (.346).
Cackowski produced a career-long 15 game hitting streak from March 25 to April 23 where he hit .483 (29-for-60) with 27 RBIs, eight homers and nine doubles. His average increased from .205 to .365 in the streak. He was named the PAC Hitter of the Week on April 21 after hitting .500 (8-for-16), slugging .875 and knocking in 5 runs in the week prior.
Prunty, an All-PAC Second Team pick in 2024, finished the season with a career-best 44 RBIs which was fourth in the PAC. He led the conference in the regular season with 43 RBIs. He was tied for fourth in the PAC in home runs (six) and was fifth in total bases (85). Prunty's .548 slugging percentage was 14th while his .959 OPS was 18th. He hit .355, which was tied for 17th in the league.
Prunty reached base safely in a career-long 27 straight games from March 13 through April 23. He reached safely in 33 of the final 35 games in the regular season. In those 35 contests, he hit .382 with 40 RBIs, nine doubles and six homers while his average has skyrocketed from .208 to .355.
Bintrim garnered Honorable Mention status for the second straight year as he logged career highs in average (.325), OBP (.421) and runs (28). He produced 43 total bases and was tied for second on the squad with 17 free passes.
On the mound, Bintrim became Thiel's all-time saves record holder with 10 as he closed a pair of games on the season. He worked a career-high 31.2 innings and K'd a career-best 19.
Jacobs collected his third career All-PAC honor as he was an Honorable Mention in 2022 and a First-Teamer last season. Jacobs set career marks in runs (30) and walks (19) while finishing 10th in the PAC in hitting (.362) an 18th in OBP (.442).
Jacobs, a D3baseball.com All-Region Third Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Third Team pick last season,
posted a career-long 12-game hitting streak from March 29 through April 18 and had eight mulit-hit games in that stretch. Jacobs ended his career on a seven-game hitting streak and reached safely in 21 of the last 22 games in the season.
