NEW CASTLE, Pa. (April 12) -- Thiel College senior golfer Alaina Harpst (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) tied for ninth of 35 golfers at Avalon Field Club in the Westminster Invitational Saturday.Â
The Tomcats finished in fourth place with a total of 372 strokes, just two behind Geneva College and 16 in front of Grove City College. Â
Harpst shot an 88 to finish 17-over par, just two behind Westminster's Mya Mrkonja. She had eight pars, six of them coming from the front nine, and one birdie on the seventh hole.Â
Emily Eutsey (Jones Mills, Pa./Mount Pleasant) shot a 93 to finish in the 14th spot and 22 over par. Eutsey had five pars, three on the front nine and two on the back. Â
Kelsi Hefner (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) shot a 95 to tie for 16th with Hiram's Joslyn Marion. Hefner had four pars, two on the front nine on holes six and seven, and two on the back nine on 14 and 16. Â
Taylor Susany (Struthers, Ohio/Struthers) shot a 96 to finish 18th and 25 over par. Susany had four pars on the day, three of them coming from the back nine. Â
Megan Bull (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) shot a 107 to finish 23rd and had a par-three on hole 13. Â
The Tomcats are back in action on Monday, April 21 when they travel to Altoona, Pa. To compete at the Penn State Altoona Invitational. Â
