BOARDMAN, Ohio (Sept. 1) -- The Thiel College Women's Golf team opened its fall slate of events at the YSU Fall Kickoff Monday afternoon from Mill Creek North in Boardman, Ohio with a fifth-place finish.
YSU took the team title with 292 strokes while Westminster was second (342), Grove City third (376), Franciscan fourth (392) and Thiel fifth (402).
Kelsi Hefner (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) paced the Tomcats as she finished 17th in the 34-player field. She totaled 90 strokes for the round to shoot 18-over. Hefner totaled seven pars and seven bogeys on the afternoon as she carded a 43 on the front nine and a 47 on the back.
Megan Bull (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and
Emily Eutsey (Jones Mills, Pa./Mount Pleasant) finished tied for 23rd as both posted rounds of 99 on the afternoon. Bull birdied the par-five ninth and had a par on the par-five seventh to go with seven bogeys for the round. Eutsey had a pair of pars on the back nine and six bogeys for the round.
Gracsen Reyburn made her collegiate debut and placed 31st with 114 strokes. Reyburn had five bogeys on the round.
Thiel is back in action Saturday when they host the Thiel Invitational at Avalon at Buhl beginning at 1 p.m.
