GREENVILLE, Pa. – Director of Athletics
Jason Fautas announced Thursday the hiring of
Terry Gaitor as Thiel College's Director of Track & Field/Cross Country.
Involved with track & field and cross country for more than seven years, Gaitor spent the past year as the head track & field coach at Southern Assembly of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie, Texas.
"I am thrilled to have Terry join our athletic department," said Fautas. "Terry brings leadership and experience to our track & field and cross country programs, which will help our student-athletes strive for excellence in academics, athletics, and the community while fostering their holistic development. I look forward to working with him to build and strengthen our programs."
A native of Miami, Florida, Gaitor earned his bachelor's degree in sports business management from Webber International University. He was a two-year letter winner in track & field at Webber International.
Gaitor began his career as an assistant track & field and cross country coach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He then became the head track & field and cross country coach, as well as the head strength and conditioning coach at Oakland University.
"First, I want to thank President Traverso, Vice President of Student Life and Athletics Mike McKinney, and Director of Athletics Jason Fautas for giving me the opportunity to lead the Thiel College track & field and cross country programs," Gaitor said. "I can't wait to get started and help build a culture and establish a vision for Thiel track & field and cross country. I am excited to work with the student-athletes to ensure they have a world class experience, and to build a culture that impacts their lives after college."
Prior to coaching at SAGU, Gaitor served as the head track & field coach and head strength and conditioning coach at Judson University.
