NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 2, 2010) – The Westminster Titans scored four runs in the first inning on their way to besting visiting Thiel College, 6-2, in Presidents' Athletic Conference baseball action on Friday afternoon.

Dave Diyorio (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) took the loss for the Tomcats, as they fell to 9-9 overall and 2-4 in league play. Westminster's Kyle Allen earned the win as the Titans improved to 7-9 and 4-1 in the PAC.
Despite outhitting the Titans 10-9, Thiel was unable to generate offense for much of the afternoon less a pair of one spots in the third and seventh innings.
Luke Johnson (Rochester, Pa./Rochester),
Justin Scarpitti (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep.) and
Weston Snyder (Cranesville, Pa./Northwestern) each registered two hits in the game;
Eric King (Butler, Pa./Butler) and
Weston Snyder (Cranesville, Pa./Northwestern) scored the Tomcat runs.
Thiel gets another crack at Westminster on Saturday, when it hosts the Titans in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
