Thomas More tops Thiel in high-scoring affair

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team came up on the short end of a, 19-12, affair against the Thomas More Saints at Tomcat Park on Sunday. With the win, the Saints tilted the weekend's three-game set in their favor: two games to one.
Thiel had the upper hand in the 33-hit, three-hour contest through the game's first six innings, establishing an, 11-7, advantage before Thomas More exploded for nine runs on seven hits in the top of the seventh frame.
The Saints tacked on three more runs in the eighth, while the Tomcats could only scrape together one run in response.
Thomas More's Spencer Franzreb and Andrew Thole each had three-hit days. Franzreb drove in a game-high four scores, while Thole was one of four Saints to score three runs on the day.
Offensively for Thiel, Andrew Howard (Olney, Md./Sherwood) and Eric Boylan (McKees Rocks/Sto Rox) each connected for three hits. Boylan led the Tomcats with three runs scored.
Four Thiel players notched two-RBI days.
Thiel (17-7; 9-3 PAC) visits Allegheny on Tuesday for a non-conference bout. The first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
