GREENVILLE, Pa. (March 24) -- Thiel College Women's Basketball players
Issy Green (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian),
Natalie Hering (Middlefield, Ohio/Berkshire),
Kayley Risser (Reynoldsville, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) and
Kelsey Seddon (Cochranton, Pa./Lakeview) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team Tuesday afternoon.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes that excel on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for academic all-district status, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least two-thirds of the team's games. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Green, an exercise science major, acquired a 3.81 GPA and collected Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Honorable Mention post season honors.
The Slippery Rock native produced one of the most solid seasons by a Thiel guard in program history, as she dished out the second-most assists in team history (129), which was the third-most in the PAC and 16th-most in DIII. Her mark in assists was the most ever by a Thiel sophomore. Green's 5.4 assists per game were second in the conference, tied for eighth in Division III and third-most in team history. She became just the second person in team lore to average at least 5.0 assists per game, joining Teresa Collins who did so twice in 1985 and 1988.
Hering, an environmental safety management major, posted a 3.86 GPA.
She appeared in all 25 contests for the Blue and Gold, starting in five of them. Hering totaled 23 points on the season, 21 rebounds and dished out nine assists.
Risser, an English major, boasted an outstanding 4.0 GPA while posting career bests throughout the season.
The sophomore started started in all 25 contests for the Tomcats and collected an average of 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Risser had two 20+ point games and 14 10 or more point games where she posted a career best 24 point and 18 rebound game against Penn State Shenango.
Seddon, a business administration finance and accounting major, also posted an impressive 4.0 GPA.
The Cochranton native appeared in 24 matches for Thiel and had a total of 121 on the 2025-26 season. Seddon average 5.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Thiel collected six victories this season, its most in a season since the 2018-19 campaign.
