TRAFFORD, Pa. (Feb. 23) -- Thiel College Women's Basketball player Caitlin Stephens (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week Monday evening.

Stephens averaged 12.5 points and rebounds each on the week while shooting .360 (9-for-25) from the field and .700 (7-for-10) from the free-throw line.

Stephens, a forward, posted collegiate career highs with 17 points and rebounds each against Grove City Saturday. She corralled six offensive boards in the season finale while going 7-of-14 from the field and 3-of-4 at the charity stripe. Earlier in the week at Allegheny, Stephens recorded 8 points and boards each to go with a pair of assists.

A sophomore, Stephens led the Cats with 8.3 rebounds per game in 2026 while her 7.2 points per game were fourth-best on the team.

Stephens joins Emily Betsinger (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) as Tomcats to bring home Newcomer of the Week in 2025-26. Betsinger did so three times.

Women's Basketball capped the 2025-26 campaign with six victories, its most in a season since 2018-19 when they had eight wins. The Cats also picked up their first PAC win since 2022-23.
