INDIANA, Pa. -- The Thiel College Men's Outdoor Track and Field program competed at the Ed Fry Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pa. all day Saturday.
Nicholas Kobielus (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex Area) placed first in javelin throw with 48.00m and in the eighth spot with 12.97m in shot put.
Khalil Holmes (Bedford, Ohio/) set a personal best in the long jump with 5.61m and placed 26th. Xavier Jenkins (5.85m -19th), Chance Loomis (Cleveland, Ohio/Conneaut) (5.63m - 22nd), Adam Spaulding (Sharpsville, Pa./) (5.63m - 23rd), Logan Smith (Girard, Pa./Girard) (5.62m - 24th), and Griffin Fraterrigo (Scotia, N.Y./) (5.40m - 28th) also competed in the event.
Nathaniel Turner (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut Area) placed 11th in the 5000m with 16:54.15 and set a new personal best.
Keith Rager (Derry, Pa./) set a personal best with 27.30m in the hammer throw and placed 18th.
Carlo Massaro (Lake Worth, Fla./) (26.60m - 11th) and Jacob Fraley (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) (16.68m - 13th) also competed in the javelin throw.
Spaulding placed third with 1.80m in the high jump.
Cooper Riley (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) placed 29th in the 800m with 2;22.77 and 25th in the 1500m with 4:41.80.
Smith and Fraterrigo ran the 400m, Smith placed 16th with 56.56, and Fraterrigo placed 21st with 58.84.
John Bresnan (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) placed 20th in the 200m with a time of 23.77 and 17th in the 100m with a time of 11.49.
The Tomcats are back in action on Friday, March 28 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pa.
