YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Thiel College Indoor Track and Field programs competed at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships hosted by Youngstown State University Thursday, February 27th.
The men's and women's teams both finished in the 10th spot out of 11, where the women gathered 16 points and the men 12.
Freshman
Imogen deBlois (Hubbard, Ohio/Howland) took home first place in the 400m with a time of 58:59, setting a personal best. deBlois also ran the 200m where she took home the 10th place finish with a time of 27.47.
Sha'nia Stiers-Royal (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) tabbed a sixth place finish in the high jump with 1.48m, a 10th place finish in the long jump with 4.90m, and 14th place in the 200m with a time of 28.02
Lillianna Briscoe (Beaver Falls, Pa./Quigley Catholic) set a new personal record (PR) of 2:26.94 in the 800m to give her 10th place.
Alexis McFadden (Kennerdell, Pa./Franklin Area) secured a seventh place finish in the triple jump with 10.28m, along with a 14th place finish in the long jump with 4.77, posting a seasonal best.
For the men,
Adam Spaulding (Sharpsville, Pa./) (3rd) and
Josh Williams (Jacksonville, Fla./) (5th) placed in the top five for high jump, Spaulding with 1.93m and Williams with 1.83m.
Chance Loomis (Cleveland, Ohio/Conneaut) jumped 6.00m in the long jump to gather the eighth place finish.
Keith Rager (Derry, Pa./) picked up a PR and 14th place spot in the shot put with 11.61m. Rager also participated in the weight throw where he placed 17th with 10.72m.
Logan Smith (Girard, Pa./Girard) ran a season best of 23.91 to place 24th in the 200m.
Multiple Tomcats picked up PR's in many different events:
In the 60m, Loomis ran a 7.50,
Khalil Holmes (Bedford, Ohio/) a 7.55, and
Joshua Daniel (Coral Springs, Fla./) a 7.97.
Both
Griffin Fraterrigo (Scotia, N.Y./) and
Brady Wear (Kinsman, Ohio/) secured PR's in the 200m and 400m.
In the 1 mile,
Cooper Riley (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) ran a 5:05.06 and
Nathaniel Turner (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut Area) ran a 4:59.15 to tab PR's.
Noah Glunk (Ligonier, Pa./) threw a 10.29m to PR in the shot put and Joseph Vaginer a 9.93m.
Kaylee Bensink (Wattsburg, Pa./Seneca) threw 8.46m in the women's weight throw to PR and pick up a 25th place spot.
