GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel College Women's Basketball freshman Emily Betsinger (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) earned Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week for the first time in her career announced by the league's office Monday afternoon. 

On the week, Betsinger averaged 12.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, helping Thiel to the Alfred State Tournament Championship and achieve their first back-to-back wins since the 2021–22 season.

She posted a career-best performance in the 82-67 win over Penn State-Shenango with 15 points and 11 rebounds to complete her first career double-double, along with three blocks and two steals.

In the Alfred State victory, Betsinger added 13 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal in just 22 minutes of play.

On Saturday, Betsinger posted 10 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in the close loss to Alfred University.
