NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on the road Monday to the Westminster Titans, 8-1.
Thiel's
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and
Takafumi Sasazaki (Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan/Hozen) defeated Dylan Weiss and Jacob Timonere at second doubles, 8-6. Westminster's Noah Sofran and Ryan Crissman topped
Eli Flinchbaugh (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) and
Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington) at first doubles, 8-3.
Sofran topped Flichbaugh 6-3, 6-4 at first singles. Weiss defeated Vilage 6-2, 6-2 at second singles while Timonere beat Sasazaki 6-2, 6-4 at third singles.
Thiel will host the Saint Vincent Bearcats Tuesday. The PAC match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
