GREENVILLE, Pa. (Aug. 6) -- Thiel College Director of Athletics Isaac Collins announced the elevation of volunteer assistant tennis coach Ken Stitt to head coach of the Tomcats' Men's and Women's Tennis programs Thursday morning. 

"We are excited to welcome Ken Stitt as the next Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Thiel," Collins said. "Throughout our search process, Ken distinguished himself through his passion for developing student-athletes, his commitment to building meaningful relationships and his vision for creating a culture where our student-athletes can thrive both on and off the court. Having already been with the program, Ken brings valuable insight into Thiel, our student-athletes and the direction of our program. That combination of proven leadership and familiarity with our campus made a strong impression throughout the interview process." 

Stitt brings more than two decades of successful head coaching experience to Thiel after leading the Greenville High School boys' tennis program from 2002-24. During his 23 seasons, Stitt recorded more than 200 career victories with a .730 winning percentage while guiding Greenville to 11 region championships and four Tri-County championships.

Under Stitt, Greenville advanced to the district semifinals or beyond 14 times. His teams were especially successful over the final 17 seasons of his tenure, posting a winning percentage above .800 from 2008-24. He also coached numerous region and district all-stars, Tri-County champions and players who continued their careers at the collegiate level.

"Coach Anthony Kobak has built a strong foundation for the program, and I look forward to building on that momentum while creating a winning culture of growth, teamwork and student-athlete development. I am committed to helping our student-athletes succeed on the court, in the classroom and as leaders now and beyond graduation. I am eager to get started and work with our student-athletes, coaches, staff, administration, alumni and the entire Thiel community to build a program we can all be proud of."

Stitt also has experience building a women's tennis program, having founded the Greenville High School girls' team in 2004. He served as its head coach from 2004-05 and again in 2021 before returning as an assistant coach in 2023.

Stitt joined the Thiel tennis staff as a volunteer assistant coach in 2025 and has also served as an adjunct professor of mathematics at the College.

A longtime member of the local tennis community, Stitt has developed extensive recruiting connections throughout Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. He will immediately begin leading the Tomcats' recruiting and preparation efforts for the upcoming season.
