ERIE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team lost a non-conference match Friday night to the Penn State Behrend Lions at the Westwood Racquet Club, 8-1.
Thiel's win was at second doubles where
Takafumi Sasazaki (Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan/Hozen) and
Bret Vilage (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) topped Paul Flick and Owen Sinnott, 8-5.
At first doubles, Jonathon Laier and Akash Sangha defeated
Eli Flinchbaugh (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) and
Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington), 8-3.
Sinnott edged Vilage at third singles 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), 10-7.
The Tomcats (1-1) will host the Franciscan Barons on March 22. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
