ERIE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team opened its 2023 season Saturday with a 9-0 non-conference loss to the Penn State Behrend Lions at the Westwood Racquet Club.
 
Ratvik Nadikude defeated Eli Flinchbaugh (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) 6-1, 6-2 at first singles. Jonathon Laier topped Nathaniel Udell (Meadowbrook, Pa./Abington) 6-1, 6-2 at second singles.
 
Mitchell May and Cody Jaconski beat Christian Kemp (Knoxville, Pa./Cowanesque Valley) and Kevin Gilroy (Cuyahoga, Ohio/Cuyahoga Falls) 8-2 at second doubles.
 
Thiel will face Baldwin Wallace on the road on Saturday. The non-conference match will begin at 6 p.m.
