GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss Wednesday on the road to the Grove City Wolverines.
Despite the loss, several Tomcats played in close matches.
Cole Duskey (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) lost to Edward Doyle at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-2.
Thad Paunovich (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area) lost at No. 3 singles to Miguel Esteban Diaz 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) while
Nick Peroni (Pittsburgh, Pa./Canon-McMillan) was defeated 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 singles by Jason Wichert.
In doubles action, Duskey and
Raymond Bullis (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) were defeated 8-2 by Jon Fleet and Andrew Graber.
The Tomcats are scheduled to take on the Washington & Jefferson Presidents Saturday at Grove City, Pa. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
