GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to Grove City College Monday afternoon at Behringer Field. Thiel fell to Grove City 4-1.
The Wolverines got the scoring started in the third with a Tyler Graham RBI ground out to second base which scored Micah Burke to make it 1-0.
The Tomcats answered in the fourth as
Nick Fowkes (New Eagle, Pa./Ringgold) singled to right field and scored
Jake Marino (Pittsfield, Pa./Youngsville) to make the score even at 1-1 after four.
Grove City took the lead again with RBI's by Graham and Travis Auth in the eighth make it 4-1.
Thiel had no answer in the ninth with two runners on as Starter Josh Bini closed out the game and Grove City took the game 4-1.
The Tomcats had won eight straight games before their first PAC loss and now sit 4-1 in conference play.
Thiel (11-6
, 4-1 PAC) will return to action Wednesday when they take on the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes at Tomcat Park. The 9-inning PAC game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
