GREENVILLE, Pa. – Thiel College head track and field coach
Will Mills announced Monday the hiring of Jennifer Neider as the program's assistant coach.
Neider, a 2016 graduate of Youngstown State University (NCAA Division I) was a six-time Horizon League champion in the shot put. She won three straight conference titles in the indoor shot put from 2013 to 2015.
"We are really excited to have Jennifer here at Thiel," Mills said. "Her success collegiately and track record speaks for itself. I'm looking forward to her working with our throwers."
Neider will coach throwing events for the Tomcats. As a Penguin, Neider had career-best marks of 14.51 meters in the shot put, 41.38 meters in discuss, 50.86 meters in the hammer throw, and 13.98 meters in the weight throw.
A native of Hermitage, Pa. and graduate of Hickory High School. Neider, a 2012 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) champion in the shot put was named a Windows Nation All-American as well as a Junior Olympic All-American as a Hornet.
Neider earned a bachelor's in applied science from YSU in 2016 and is currently pursuing a master's in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania.
