CRESSON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 defeat to the Mount Aloysius Mounties in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.
Jon Fennick (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock ) scored the lone Tomcat victory in No. 6 singles over Jake Arovich 6-1, 6-2.
Cole Duskey (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) and
Thad Paunovich (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area) both played tough matches at No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles respectively. Paunovich suffered a three set loss (3-6, 6-4, 3-10) to Nicholas Centar while Duskey fell 7-5, 6-2 to Matthew Hample.
The Tomcats will wrap up the regular season tomorrow when they host the Bethany Bison in a conference contest. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. from Buhl Park in Sharon, Pa.
