WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's tennis team opened the 2016 season dropping a 6-3 decision to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Wednesday.
Alex Horvatits (Lancaster, N.Y./Saint Mary's ) recorded a win in No. 5 singles against Bradley Gillespie 6-2, 6-1. Horvatits and Stevens received a forfeit at No. 3 doubles while
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) also picked up a forfeit at No. 6 singles.
Cole Duskey (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) lost a hard-fought match to Timothy Harris in No. 1 singles, falling 6-3, 6-3.
The Tomcats will return to action tomorrow at 4 p.m. when they travel to Beaver Falls, Pa. to take on the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a PAC matchup.
