The Thiel men's track & field team was named as one of 68 Division III All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Tomcats were one of two Presidents' Athletics Conference teams to earn the distinction, which is awarded for posting a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or higher. Coach Steve Carr's squad had a GPA of 3.14.

"Of  the many accolades a collegiate team or individual can achieve, this one is my favorite," Carr said. "It is evidence that our student-athletes have their priorities straight."

Thiel finished seventh at the PAC Championships last season. The Tomcats' Alex Eaton (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep.) ended his collegiate career with a national championship in the 400-meter dash.
