Berea, Ohio (February 13, 2010) -- The Thiel College men's and women's track and field teams earned five top-three finishes at the Baldwin Wallace Mid February meet on Friday.
The women's team continued their overall improvement dropping times in eight of 15 events contested. #Brittany Brown (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial)# broke her own school record in the 55m hurdles, with a time of 8.57, en route to a first place finish. Brown is a mere .04 from qualifying provisionally for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Senior athlete, Latoya Locke (Farrell, Pa./Farrell), ran a lifetime best in the 55m hurdles, earning a third place finish. The Farrell, Pa. native also placed third in the triple jump, with a leap of 11.01-meters.
Alex Eaton (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep.) earned second place in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 50.12, while Ethan Rowe (Fairmont City, Pa./Redbank Valley) finished third, with a personal best time of 50.61.
Rowe and Eaton later joined Nick Youngblood (Hadley, Pa./Greenville) and Aaron Kopps (Atlantic, Pa./Perry) on the 4x400-meter relay team that took second place with a time of 3:32.78.
Thiel College track and field will head out to Alliance, Ohio Saturday, Feb. 20 to compete at the Mount Union Open
