PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 29) — The Thiel College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Chatham University in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play Tuesday evening at UPMC Graham Field.
Chatham (2-5-2, 2-2-1 PAC) scored the lone goal of the match in the seventh minute when the Cougars found the back of the net at 6:21 to give them an early 1-0 lead.
The Tomcats (4-5-1, 1-2-1 PAC) looked to respond, recording two shots in the first half, including attempts from Evan Haas (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) and Mitchell Strauss (Bradford, Pa./Bradford Area), but were unable to find the equalizer.
Thiel continued to battle in the second half, creating opportunities and earning three corner kicks after halftime. However, the Cougars' defense held firm to preserve the shutout.
