GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Thiel College men's lacrosse team dropped their non-conference contest against Heidelberg 25-4 Wednesday evening from the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
The Tomcats fall to 1-7 (0-1 PAC) overall as Heidelberg advances to 4-3.
The Blue and Gold opened the scramble with a goal seven seconds in to the game by
Logan Millie (Fairview, Pa./Fairview), assisted by
Austin Parker (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood), setting the program record for fastest goal scored in Thiel history. Heidelberg went on to score four unanswered goals but Thiel bounced back with two more from freshman
Dom Baker (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) to end the first at 4-3.
Heidelberg controlled the tempo throughout the second quarter, notching 10 goals and forcing Thiel into turnovers and off-net shots.
In the third quarter, Millie netted his second goal of the night, assisted yet again by Parker. Millie guided the Tomcat offense with 11 shots and six ground balls, as Baker followed with eight and nine ground balls.
Parker picked up 15 ground balls and went 22-for-32 at the face-off. In net,
Ethan Narby (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) defended 73 shots and made 21 saves.
Thiel is back in action on Wednesday, Mar. 25 as they travel to conference opponent Bethany college for a match-up that begins at 7 p.m.
