Ethan Narby (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) set a new Thiel record with his 559th career save.
Narby finished the contest with 22 stops as he now has 577 career saves, which is third all time in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) history.
The Tomcats (0-3, 0-1 PAC) dropped the non-conference affair with the Panthers (1-0) 18-4.
Play was even in the first quarter as the two sides went back and forth and were knotted at 3 after 15 minutes. The Cats got goals from
Logan Millie (Fairview, Pa./Fairview),
Kasey Estep (Brunswick, Ohio/Holy Name) and
Dom Baker (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg).
The visitors then went on to tally the next 11 goals to lead 14-3 heading into the fourth quarter.
Kasey Estep (Brunswick, Ohio/Holy Name) added his second goal in the fourth as the Panthers went on to the triumph.
Estep added three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers to go with his two goals. Millie snagged six ground balls while Baker had five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Narby finished with a team-best nine ground balls.
Austin Parker (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood) won seven faceoffs and had four ground balls.
Thiel is back in action next Tuesday for a non-conference clash with La Roche at home beginning at 7 p.m.
