GREENVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 10) -- The Thiel College Men's Lacrosse team entered the 2026 season with high hopes for its clash with Saint Vincent College Tuesday. Those hopes were dashed as the Bearcats, picked to finish third in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), defeated the Tomcats 28-2 inside the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
The Tomcats dip to 0-1 (0-1) while the Bearcats rise to 1-0 (1-0).
Ethan Narby (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) totaled 21 saves in goal and grabbed five ground balls.
Austin Parker (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood) won 16-of-26 faceoffs and grabbed 12 ground balls.
Logan Millie (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) and
Joey King (Cooperstown, Pa./Maplewood) each tallied goals for the Tomcats.
Kasey Estep (Brunswick, Ohio/Holy Name) grabed six ground balls.
Dom Baker (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) and
Bereket Debebe (Silverspring, Md./Paint Branch) each caused one turnover.
The Bearcats led 15-1 at the half and 22-2 after three frames as the end was near for the Blue and Gold.
Connor Smith did things his way for the visitors, tallying six goals and two assists for 8 points.
The Tomcats will look to pick themselves back up and get back in the race Sunday when they head to Marietta for a 1 p.m. non-conference clash.
